Our Dad is Home!!!!

Yeah! We made it! We picked Tim up from the airport last night. I was asking the kids what they missed the most about Dad! Jaxson said he missed having another boy in the house. (I agree there is WAY too much estrogen flying around this house.) Morgan missed hanging out with Tim. Ryanne missed having our whole family together. Hanna thought Tim would have cared more when she hurt her eye. (She's a little dramatic!!!) Emmie just missed Daddy.

Hanna has her first solo competition tonight. I hear it is really good. Her practice times keep changing and so life goes. I will post the results tomorrow. I am sure she will do great! She is a fantastic dancer!

All of the girls have a competition tomorrow! It should be fun!

Cute Kids!!

This is Emmie and her little friend Hayden. They were jumping on the trampoline yesterday. Hayden was afraid she would drop the clips that she was holding in her hand. I said she could set them on the barbecue. Hayden looked at Emmie and said, "What is a barbeque." Emmie replied, "It's where we cook our barbies." Isn't that precious?

Shannon sorry I didn't go to the temple. I went and kept my sister company instead. She is so bored. I am going to go tomorrow at 1:00. I am so proud of your soccer abilities. I wish I had been there!!!

Tim comes home tomorrow. Yeah!!!! We are picking him up from the airport at 9:00 pm. We can hardly wait!

FAMILY NIGHT!

My reasons for not blogging for the past week are many. I have been feeling a little sorry for myself as of late. Tim has been out of the country for 19 days now. (He comes home on Thursday!!!!!) I never realized how lucky I have been to be able to talk to him when he travels. The time differenc is huge and he is working when we are up. I have talked to him for a total of 20 minutes since he left. I have just felt so lonely. And on top of that....Ryanne got a concussion last week, my sister went into preterm labor , I had her 3 kids (whom I dearly love) but wanted to be there for her also, was worried about the health of her baby, the little girls were throwing up, my keys and purse got locked in the car at my soccer game, we had a dance competition Saturday, etc......

So I was thinking things couldn't get worse! Yesterday my sister called. She had to go back to labor and delivery to see if they could stop her contractions. I jumped in the car to go be with her. I was stopped at a light-talking to a friend-trying to rearrange car pools for that afternoon when I got rear ended. Yes, this is a true story.

Anyway, That little accident was kind of a wake up call. I realized that things could be FAR worse. I am really lucky! Lucky to have happy healthy kids, lucky that Tim has a job, lucky that I am healthy, that my sister is close and I can help her, lucky to have a sweet neighbor who came up to me in church and simply said, "I will take care of you," lucky-lucky-lucky....

Now on to family night. We have the cutest girl on our street. Her name is Shelby. She babysits for me a lot when Tim is gone because Emmie thinks that Shelby is her best friend. I decided that for family night we needed to do something fun as a family. So.... Shelby is taking her driving test to get her liscense today. We made signs and bought tons of candy bars and made a poster for her. The kids had so much fun. That was the first time in a long time that everyone enjoyed the activity. Even the older kids had ideas. We were trying to make a poem and put candy in the place of some of the words. Emmie wanted to find a rock and write, "Shelby-you rock!" Jaxson decided that Shelby was a "hot tamale". Ryanne wanted to ask if Shelby could drive us to Hawaii now. (Next family night will be a geography lesson!) Hanna and Jaxson wanted to order balloons to put on the sign. We couldn't look like amateurs. Morgan decided she would ring the doorbell and run after putting the sign in Shelby's yard! When we got home Emmie was sad because she wanted to go play with Shelby. Thanks Shelby for giving us a reason to plan something fun. We love you. We hope you did good on your test!

TUESDAY!

Remember me saying that I took the kids to the park on Sunday? Well, Ryanne hit her head on a bar by the slide. Monday morning she started throwing up. I took her in and she has a concussion. Everybody keeps saying, "that is what you get for taking your kids to the park on Sunday." I thought that it would be a good thing. We went for a family bike ride and played together. AM I WRONG???????? I thought I was being such a good mom. ANYWAY, I am so glad that Ryanne is okay. She was pretty sick. I was so worried about her. Today she has been feeling okay. She is just tired because I had to wake her up every few hours during the night. I am still going to keep her home tomorrow. (Shannon that means I won't be going to the Temple. I am sorry. I am going to go with my ward Thursday night. How does next week sound?)

I did run four miles today and I am pretty proud of myself! I also drove to dance, hung out with the kids and did homework. What a successful day! Sam even came to play with Emmie for a while. Now I am off to get kids in bed and go there myself.

We miss you Tim!!!!!!!!!

A Sunny Sunday Afternoon

I know some of the pics are messed up. Sorry!

Today was such a beautiful day. I love going to church in the morning on days like today. The kids and I went on a bike ride. We rode to a park and then the kids played while I took pictures. Morgan was such a good sport. Her bike had a flat so she rode one that was four sizes too small. As you can see, she looked kind of silly. I am so glad she was willing to go. We had a good time. We LOVE this weather! We came home tired. Hopefully everyone will sleep well tonight.

We are missing our dad. We can't wait for him to come home!

Spring Fever!

I am so excited for spring. I have been cleaning, cleaning and cleaning. Okay so I hired someone to do it! Yesterday I worked in the yard, set up bunk beds for the little girls, and cleaned out the laundry room. Today I had the vents, carpet, and tile steam cleaned. I worked in the yard while it was being done. They had a problem with the equipment and didn't finish until 3:00pm. (They got here at 9:00 am.) I was up late getting furniture moved so ALL of the carpet could be done.
Now I am exhausted. So I am going to bed. Oh yeah, I scored a goal in my soccer game. Go me!!!!

The Annual Easter Party!

Tonight I went to my friends and stuffed Easter eggs. Yes Easter eggs already! My friend puts on this huge party every year. There is an egg hunt, a barbecue, one of those big blow up slides, and kids kids and more kids. We usually hide 3,000 eggs. That is why we start stuffing them now.

Tim is gone. He is in Asia. He is not loving the food. From the pictures, I don't blame him. The kids love being able to talk to him on the webcam. It is really cool. I don't think he can ever really hear what Emmie is saying. He always replies, "that is great!" We miss him so much.

I painted Ryanne and Emmie's bedroom today. It isn't quite done. But, they are so excited!I will blog pictures of all the rooms. I promised myself that when I quit work I would decorate the kids rooms. Well, I am finally doing it.

BAD BLOGGER!

I know. I am a bad blogger/bad auntie/bad mom/bad friend. It is just that it is hard to imagine anybody wanting to know some of the day to day events of our family. I am working on my attitude-promise.
I failed to mention that my best friend and nephew turned four in February. Sam is four and mad that his mom is pregnant with another GIRL!!!! He says he "hates dirls". One day that will change.
I got the opportunity to take him to the store with me so he could pick his present. We had so much fun. Even Emmie was so concerned with finding him just the right toy. She was sure that he needed a barbie. Thank goodness he disagreed.

A few days after Sam's birthday I watched my friend's little girl Quincy. My girls were in heaven. Not long after she got here she crawled downstairs wearing a pink dress up. It was so cute. We all had a great time. Except for my nephew Sam. He was a little mad at me for having another "little friend". After dinner he came and said, "Auntie where did you find that?" I guess he is lucky that she was just visiting.

Yesterday I had the opportunity to attend my cousin's wedding at the Logan Temple. It was so nice. He looked so happy and his wife was so pretty. It made me so grateful for my own wedding day. When no one in the world mattered but Tim and I. It was so fun.

Til' next time!

Skiing!

No school today and nothing to do????We went skiing for the day at Sundance. I thought I was pretty cool and as you can see.....I fell a few times. Ryanne and Jaxson flew past me. Oh alright-EVERYONE flew past me. I am getting better though. It was such a fun family day. We ate at the Brick Oven when we were done and then came home to get ready for bed. I am old and tired. It was a beautiful day.
